用法
≪接続≫
普通形＋由┃以下接続例

Na：にぎやかだな／である＋由
N：本だの／である＋由
≪意味・使い方≫
X由、Y
- Xとのことで、Y ＜have heard that X, Y＞
- 「Xと聞きましたが、」「Xだそうで、」と言いたいときに使う
- 手紙などで使うが、かなり古い言い方なので最近はあまり使われない
１．この「由」の漢字はよく「理由」や「由来」などと使われるが、これらとはまったく異なる使い方をする

このたびは、新しい仕事が決まったよし、おめでとうございます。 (Congratulations on securing a new job this time.)
前回より健康診断の結果が良好のよし、安心しました。 (I’m relieved that your results of the health check-up are better than last time.)

やっと難しい問題が解決したよし、よかったですね。 (It’s good to hear that the difficult problem has finally been resolved.)

このたびは、ご結婚される由、誠におめでとうございます。 (Congratulations on your upcoming marriage.)
新しい子どもを授かった由、心よりお祝い申し上げます。 (Congratulations on the arrival of your new child.)
