Have you ever heard Japanese people say ”ヤバい”(yabai)? This word originally means “dangerous”, but now it is also used to mean “delicious”, “expensive”, “cute” and so on. “ヤバい” is very useful and had became a common word among youngers, but it’s a really casual word so you have to think about who you can use it for and when you can use it.

“おつかれさまです(otsukaresama-desu)” and “つかれました(tsukaremashita)” are similar but different words. “おつかれさまです(otsukaresama-desu)” means like “thank you for your hard work” and people use this for the people they work with. On the other hand, “つかれました(tsukaremashita)” means “I’m tired”. This student in manga might have been too tired to confuse these words.

International students who come to Japan work really hard at their part-time jobs. This student is no exception. The store manager of this student’s part-time job told the student that he will raise this student’s hourly wage by 50 yen. To be honest, he was begging the stdent not to quit.

Did you know “いいです” also means “no thank you”…?

「ソ」←Is this “そ(so)” or “ん(n)”…??
